Can't play because lag is so bad right from the start

Summary:
I just purchased this game and I can’t play it because it is so incredibly slow. It takes 10-15 seconds to register each mouse click and moving my mouse across the screen takes ages.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open game - that’s it!

I’m very sorry, but I’m not super computer-literate so I don’t know where to find my machine information.

I believe I’m using version 15 and I have not installed any mods.

If you’re on Windows, your machine information is under Settings, System, About. If you’re on an Apple, I don’t know, I use Windows.

Chances are, when you don’t know your specs, they are not good enough. Get the refund before playing for two hours.

You can also go into the Settings screen on the game (ESC from anywhere, or settings from the main splash) and find your video card info.
