Summary:
I tried to build a fancy bridge, and certain parts of the “support structure” (slab blocks that I’m using to make aesthetic support beams) appear as Red Blocks when trying to Build the template. The error message said to send the template to the devs but I don’t know how to do that other than uploading it as a Workshop item and throwing it here.
Place the template anywhere from the New Editor, preferably spanning a river with a depth of only 1 block since that’s where it was made to fit.
Attempt to Build, see an error message and Red Blocks.
Expected Results:
Build a bridge, with the red blocks (on the bottom side of the bridge) being built as the Hearthlings go up, which they seem to not be able to do.
Actual Results:
Error message, Hearthlings unable to start building.
Thanks Naevera, we’ll take a look! In the future, please attach the file as a zip in your discourse message directly, or use Dropbox/Google drive to share a link to the building template instead of uploading to the workshop, which is a place for other players to share and find mods/building templates.
Sorry for the vague message. Your bridge is almost good, just need to pull out the voxels of that bottom step so that it’s supported by the path beneath it. (Voxels must always be supported, either on the side or from below.) Do this on both sides of the bridge, and it should build fine. In the meantime, I’ll see if I can work on that error message a bit…
Well, the bottom slabs/voxels were being supported by the ground in my version. The road on either side was in the ground, not on top of it. The red blocks were in the support structure underneath the part above the water. Also, I’ll upload as a file in the future, though I’m not sure where to find the files.
Either way, thank you both for the help. I’ll see if I can improve my design in the future.
If you’re on windows, it should be somewhere like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_objects\stonehearth\building_templates
