Breaking down buildings

I think a missing key feature is the possibility of erasing or modifying already built buildings. For example if I want to demolish a house, or open a hole in a wall to put a window or door in it. Its crucial for a building game to be able to step back on bulding decisions, and it’s really frustrating this can’t be done in StoneHearth. It’s really the main concern I have with the game, and I believe it’s more important than any other feature currently missing or any bug that needs fixing currently.

It’s something they wanted but can’t do before they have to let the game go. And it’s a bit above normal modder quality stuff. so do 't count on it

This is indeed one of the biggest letdowns. I hope they at least let us add windows and doors after a building is finished. Nothing more frustrating than waiting for that extra special tower to finish only to realize that an entry’s missing.

Unless I’m missing something you can demolish houses. (I don’t think I’ve done it myself since the new builder, though.)

Not being able to modify is the worst, though.

Yeah, you can. Doesn’t help if you only notice after finishing which can take days. Resources and net worth also take a hit. And since we cannot edit buildings afterwards, creating really big fortresses in small increments in nigh impossible so I tend to do it in really big steps. We sure came a long way but it’s still really frustrating at times.

ACTUALLY you can build it in small increments, it just takes a difference in thinking. and it would not be “one” building. since buildings can be built both on top of one another and adjacent to one another. (its also why people put modular wall pieces on the workshop)

but then you would have a “building” thats a part of a wall. a “building” thats some fancy stairs. etc.
could even do that with floor plans now i think about it. (a building with -JUST- furniture. no walls or anythign else) ill give that a try later today.

You’re right. It just requires so much more planning ahead than in Minecraft, but I’m repeating myself and the team knows it as well. So it looks like I better just wait and see what the future brings.

fair point, then again in minecraft i always planned ahead as well in paint and stuff :’) so thats why i might be less bothered about it :stuck_out_tongue:
