looking at the assertion description its about mobs. i have been attacked by wolves in the late game but not goblin. im still a new player this is my first run on the game so i dont know how difficulty it should be in normal difficulty. my last quest i got was doing the fountain then i got the start a new village.

Could you right click Stonehearth in your Steam library, click on Properties, Local Files tab, Browse Local Files button, and check if you have a crash.zip or crash.dmp that corresponds with the time when your game crashed with that message?

If so, could you upload it?

Does that crash happen consistently on the same savefile? Or are you able to keep playing after loading it?

No steps relate to problem.

Notes:

Fixed by deleting object(Decoy Hearthling) with bugged animations. @Relyss is the best!!

Extra Help:

I have found a workaround for those who feel doomed by the imminent crashing bug, simply restart your game after an hour-hour and a half depending on what your computer can handle. This will refresh the log, while it doesn’t fix anything, you can have control over your saves back and not lose any worlds effected by this. You could also gauge the time a crash will occur using the log’s filesize of a game that did crash, and making sure it doesn’t get close to that size again. The log I posted above was a whopping 190mb. I will be attempting to empty the log with the game open, wish me luck.

(Anyone confused as to why this may be a problem, updating a file that fast can be done, but the process becomes more of a strain the bigger the file is.)

@DaniAngione (not sure who to ping) I think there’s one item in ACE throwing this animation warning in the log. It might/might not be related to the crash, but you should consider fixing it.

I think the culprit is the decoy trap: stonehearth_ace/idle.json at unstable-work · StonehearthACE-team/stonehearth_ace · GitHub

Animations should at least have 2 frames (2 entries in the “frames” array). I’m not sure if there could be more out there, but I deleted these items from Omni’s savefile and the warning stopped.

Ahh, indeed. I see here, they do have only one frame in their idle and used animations, I didn’t even remember they were in the game already, I’m not sure if coasterpaul ever finished working on them :smiley:

Thank you so much @Relyss I might’ve spent hours looking before realizing the decoys also have idle animations, you’re a game and time saver!

Also, excited to hear this will be fixed! I do enjoy the Decoys to bait into turret range.
