I’ve played for 8 days in-game, and now anytime I try to turn the game on and start playing again, I instantly receive a notice telling me multiple engine errors have occurred. Only, the number of errors keeps increasing and my PC gradually runs slower and slower. Not only this, but my Hearthlings become almost entirely unresponsive to tasks, new or old. It keeps on counting up the errors until I quit out; reaching over 2,000 one time, before I quit out…
Did you notice any errors the game has made before the error log came up?
Welcome to the forum, @Angusman17
Sometimes it happens that after loading you start to accumulate those errors, but it has to do with what was going on the game when you saved, I think.
I’d suggest try to load a previous savefile.
Could you paste the contents of your stonehearth.log file? It should have those errors messages, I think. Although if you waited until there were 2000 errors, it’ll be a lengthy file… And normally the errors are all the same when this happens.
The file is located inside your Stonehearth folder (for example, if you are playing with Steam, it’s inside C:/Steam/SteamApps/common/Stonehearth
It’ll help us to detect the origin of the problem. By the way, are you playing latest Alpha 11? Or Alpha 10.5 -10?
I do not know what alpha version I’m playing off the top of my head (I’m not at my computer at the moment) but I purchased and installed stonehearth through steam this week, Monday I think. I’ll look for the file and try to post it in this forum chunk o’ mine when next I’m at my computer though

that’s alpha 10-5 then if you haven’t altered any settings on steam
where is my welcome ?
Welcome to the forum, @Bag_of_Potatoes !
(6 hours later…)
Okay, so first off, let me apologize for not being back on the discourse for about a week; life kinda got in the way for awhile there. Second, related to the .log file, I can’t seem to find it within the stonehearth files in my computer…
If you can’t find the log files, but you still have the save and its having the issue still (which I assume it would), then you can upload the save file to dropbox or some other file storing site and link that here instead.
Okay, I’ll look into that and try to get back to you guys. On a different note, is there a way to get to alpha 11 through steam or is it not released there yet?
Scroll down to the bottom of this page and follow the instructions there.
Oh great and powerful, @Tuhalu! I have an off topic query if you are so inclined to bless an unfortunate soul, such as myself, with knowledge and wisdom. How do you get the link to embed in text, like your “this page” link. Is that a tool or is there a script you use?
Highlight the text with your mouse, then click on the chain icon (or press Ctrl-L).
Ah, simple enough to make me look silly lol. Thanks
