A question about steam workshop

One creator creates a mod in workshop and invites another one as fellow author, if accepted, can that other person update mod in his own Stonehearth game? and how?

As far as I am aware, Steam workshop is done on a per-account basis, so far as I know when I dealt with it for a Dungeons of Dredmor mod I made for myself and uploaded in case others wanted the same functionality. I mostly keep up with the Workshop as a user, and IIRC I have never seen more than one listed mod author account on Workshop files.

It’s potentially a limitation to collaborative efforts, but AFAIK there’s no way to approve a second mod author and give them editing privileges on the Steam workshop. Hopefully I’m not spreading misinformation here, as I’ll admit it has been years since I was a mod author using the Steam workshop. A quick google turns up people asking the same question and getting a negative answer, but even those threads seem to be at least a year old.

The typical suggestion seems to be to use something like Dropbox or Github to sync the files between a mod team, although if the uploader of a mod retires the entire mod has to be reuploaded by an active member of the team.

It’s definitely possible to list multiple people on a workshop entry as contributors. I believe they have the same access as you do to the item, minus the ability to modify the contributors (or kick you out). I think it works quite similar to guides in that regard.

There’s a link on the right side of the workshop entry that allows you to modify the list:

It might be game-dependent on what it does. For example, it’s possible that SH only allows uploads if you’re the owner of the game, not just a contributor - publishing to the Steam Workshop was always a bit tricky.

:disappointed_relieved: nope, I don’t think contributors have the same UI as yours

Can creator of the mod edit the right of contributors to access them to modifying mods, or is it as what @Clawdius said, that’s actually a limitation…
