Well, just imagine having to click the arrow like 19 times to get to your preferred race. That will drive so many people batty. So if you could implement this optional way of searching, it might make it easier for others ;D
I was just about to suggest the very same, have the arrows but also have it so you can click the name currently there to bring up the popup like in vanilla.
I love the idea in general
The fact that you made that super fast, and it looks very clean and looks like vanilla! Id love to see more in the future.
I was thinking of the same menu we have now, but instead of the contextual window that hangs from the red highlited words, a centered window that pops up, with some fancy borders etc. On that window you could have arrows layout or grid layout or whatever is better.
But overall I love the idea. Maybe TR will change this screen when all the kingdoms and biomes are finished, who knows.
I agree the current screen doesn’t have enough space to accomodate too much options.
@Neronix17, if you want to debug the UI, open Chrome browser with the game opened, then type localhost:1338, and click on the Stonehearth UI link. You can use the inspect tool on UI elements of the game to find the code behind. I hope this helps on finding the fonts.
That is ridiculously helpful! I was worried about having to re-launch the game constantly with pure trial and error without the inspector
Depending on how long it takes to do this, which I’m thinking may only be a couple of days if I’m not too busy, then I could do multiple layouts so people can pick and choose.
Well, if you restart the game, you’ll have to reload the localhost page on the browser too.
You don’t have to restart the game anyway. You can do F5 on the game to reload the entire UI. =)
hmmm i see the issue with localizations because the shown boxes are to small xD
but yes the idea is not bad
If you mean the descriptions for the selected settings then that shouldn’t be an issue with the new changes, I’m moving them to the bottom under the selection bars instead so they can always show and have scroll bars for if the text ever needs to extend lower.
Not much to look at for the moment progress wise, haven’t had as much time to work on it today as I thought I’d have. I can re-arrange the mock image to show the change if that’s confusing, I’m not all that good at describing
Havent checked on the mod in a while, hows everything going?
I’ve had a lot to do the past week so haven’t made much progress, I’ll have a few days free at the end of the week so hopefully I can get it done or at least something to show then
dont worry @Neronix17, life should always come before the fun
Sorry for the epic delay in getting this out, It’s done for the most part but for almost two weeks my internet has been dead, my ISP messed up and broke the line and now have had them fail to show up to fix three times and outright lied about it too. Not sure how much longer till it’s fixed but I’ll upload as soon as it is, well, after making sure it still works in A14 which I lost internet before being able to update to.
Currently running on barely working mobile data so this post might not even work. I’ve tried to upload the mod using to a couple of locations and it’s failed multiple times despite the small size.
@Neronix17, don’t worry about getting the mod online too much. Real life issues come up, and this one is certainly beyond your control. We will be happy to see it whether you manage to get it up today, or it takes 3 more weeks for you to get your internet back up.
On another note, good luck with your ISP. Once the ordeal is over make sure to contact Customer Service and ensure you will not be billed for all the time you were without internet. Also, it is a good idea (if you are not doing so already) to note down the name, ID (if possible), and time of everyone of your calls: all the more helpful if you need to challenge things later on. You may also want to record the calls you make, but I am not a lawyer so I am not sure if the UK is one party or two party consent…
