I mean, why shouldn’t we be able to? Tables are just decorative as is, it would be so neat and adorable to put a little plushie bunny rabbit on top of the dresser in the home of my Hearthling, or have decorative vases on my dining room tables, or not have my supposed antique clay teapot sitting on the floor in the dust!
You used to be able to do this with at least some items. I guess they changed a few things.
Hrmmm this confused me at first cause I have an oil lamp on one of my tables…
I don’t know if it’s reserved for fancier tables or if the feature got lost in the mix somewhere. I tried it with the basic wooden tables for single use and multiple and it wouldn’t allow it. Oh and even with this table I noticed when switching a teapot with the lamp that the bottom of the placed item clips into the table.
I’ve not tried it, but I think I saw somewhere that it works if the object is placed on the floor, then moved onto the table. Could this be an explanation?
Probably has to do with items having collision or not, is my guess
there is another trick though if u cant do it, start by placing the table, then place a voxel under table, then place item on voxel, the cut out the voxel
That’s what I had to do to pitch my goblin ladder idea for ways they could get over walls.
One of my favourite features of Sims 4 was the ability to place clutter items “off-grid” when being placed on counters, tables, ect.
I find the look of an item placed at right angles to the table in the dead center of the table to be very ugly, even with the aesthetic of something like SH
At some point I might try and mod that in
EDIT: And this kinda already exists with supply tables ect, and I think they’re the cutest items in the whole game!
Understandable if you make sure hearthlings aren’t tempted to eat there. I’d rather not get bug stew all over my fancy decorations lol. I just figured it was a middle of the table thing so they still had room to eat.
