Slave to Armok: God of Blood: Dwarf Fortress

Was mining. Found magma. Thought “open space” meant magma was one z level down.

Three miners are gone.

Oh, there goes a fourth one because I dug him into a pit of candy without thinking how he was going to get out. And he’s my best miner…

Lots of tantrums lately because of all those miner’s deaths. Oh well. They’ll be fine.

Probably.

Have masons build his a stairway. have the downward stairway on top, and the up/down stairway bellow. and so on until they get rescued, alternatively, enable his masonry skill and throw stuff down to him, this can be aquired by using the garbage dump to have them throw it into the pit. Will have to be claimed after it gets thrown down. Also, the magma was probably under pressure.

It was a volcano, I guess.

I already drowned him in magma when trying to build him a staircase out.

That’s a nice feature with dwarf fortress, it allows liquids to have pressure, so don’t dig down and expect the water to stop at your lower well, it will flow right though.

Also, always embark near a river and never near a aquifer.

This made my morning.

I’d just like to say, I’m actually having to teach myself to say your god’s actual name. Someone commented on it earlier (too far back for me to bother finding :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) too, except I say Amrok.

It’s Armok Smokey, Armok.

OMG! I love this game!!! It’s actually what brought me here. In general, the city-building/management genre is probably my favorite so far. It took me a week to kinda get started, but fun in this game is just the learning experience.

If anyone wants a good tutorial (somewhat outdated, but still really good explanation at the basics):

This game never stops surprising me!

Silverhall outpost
the Dwarves are working tediously on stone mugs and statues for when the caravan comes.
Uristmcpriest doing his daily chores at the alter making totems out of bones and what not for Armok (MORE BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD) when suddenly a forgotten beast pops for a visit! (entirely unexpected for a fort of 21 dwarves within the first year), now i thought well… this fort is gone might as well watch the !!FUN!!.
its important to note that our little Urist is by no means a fighter… heck he cant handle the sight of elves!
never the less he went outside to confront (by accident) the Forgotten beast! (A FREAKING BALORG). upon watching this it never occurred to me that Urist will use the mug he was carrying to smash the Balorgs skull open! its blood covering the whole trade depot… needless to say it was a glorious day in Urists life and he got his own grand room for this with a throne made out of the bones of said dead Balorg

oh well, time to watch the archive

Have been playing MasterworkDF almost nonstop, so I haven’t been around lately, and I have two things to say: I LOVE Kobolds, and despise Dragon Raptors. The Kobold race is just is so easy to maintain; they only eat meat (plants on the side, so little true need to farm), are tantrum-proof, and their main food source animals breed like rabbits (literally). However, with my terrible luck in all things ever, Fun things always seem to follow my liaisons to my fortress. Note, remain paranoid whenever the first caravan arrives. But overall, I’m having Fun. How about you all?

Edit: They don’t like alchohol neither!

I… missed a livestream? :’(
