Those aren’t clouds, you’ve some trees in the air (reported bug) somewhere near you
Ah! So they don’t just hang in the air, but also move? Because that’s what the darker shadows do (see the video). I’ve seen floating trees (in another playthrough of which I have no footage), but I haven’t seen them move.
That is the sun moving through the sky causing the shadows

You must be right; they move in the same direction as the shadows of the trees underground and have the same shape. They must be quite high up if they move so quickly, comparatively; but then, they must be anyways in order to be above the camera. Silly me. Thanks, @Unatan2!

Oh… So they fixed it already?
We could have changed the model for hot air ballons and made some nice screenshots 
So far in build 223 I haven’t seen any floating trees. Appears to be fixed. Anyone else?
i got the update from today march 16 2015. i have seen floating trees but mine are just hanging over the cliff to far or just past the cliffs reach. no high flyers that I’ve seen
