[Res] Game closes seconds after launching (Lavasoft Ad-Aware)

if you have a google account (gmail account) then google drive would probably be easiest, or you could always just open the .log file (with notepad) then copy and paste its contents into a reply.

This might not be the right thing, as I’m new to this-

I’ve worked with these kinds of things before but stonehearth is nothing like the rest.

thats the one, i’ll page @Albert (a member of TR) so he can take a look at this, as i’m no good at figuring out the reasoning behind crashes.

Thanks for the helping me out! It’s nice to find a game with a legitimate community.

Albert would have the definitive information to look at (exactly which thing is causing an error), but it looks like you might be the victim of a program hooking into the chrome browser that runs in stonehearth and causing an error. The list in the “crashing on startup” topic that 8BitCrab linked to isn’t exhaustive. It just covers what has been found so far. Also, people sometimes have something like LavaSoft AdAware installed along with something else unknowingly and that causes a similar problem.

It’s a possibility anyway.

Is there a list of which programs and if so where do I go to get rid of them.

It’s the third post in the thread that 8bitcrab referred you to.

@Dovahkiin789 - Your video card and drivers look good. Is there a crash.dmp file in the stonehearth folder? If so, post or email it to support@radiant-entertainment.com and I can tell you where it’s crashing.

@Dovahkiin789 - I was finally able to pull your crash report from the server. It’s crashing in LavasoftTcpService64.dll. Lavasoft Ad-Aware injects code into the Stonehearth process causing it to crash. You’ll need to disable or uninstall it in order to play Stonehearth.

Where do I go to uninstall it. I see the file but is it in my browser or files?

Game still crashes and i have lavasoft uninstalled, ran compatibility mode windows 8/7 and running as admin.

could you provide the stonehearth.log and crash.dmp files again, then we can determine why its still crashing.

It’s still crashing in LavasoftTcpService64.dll. Apparently, not all of it was removed. You’ll probably need to google to figure out how to get rid of it completely.

or you could attempt this,

as was posted by froggy over here,

there are two lavasoft files on my computer still and they refuse to be deleted, saying they are running in other programs.

First reboot your computer again and try to delete the files.

If that doesn’t work, you could try installing “Unlocker” from FileHippo. http://filehippo.com/download_unlocker/
Unlocker would let you delete those files that are still being used.

Well all I can say now is that my village has 11 hearthlings and I have microsoft customer service and you guys to thank.
