Rayya Red Clay Homes build bug(ladder / scaffolding)

I’ve been trying to build the double house several times now, but it errors out each time. I’ve found at least 3 different ladders stuck inside blocks and that seems to cause the building to stop and stay incomplete. I think there is a fourth one that I don’t see, since there is usually a very small one left hanging quite far up in the air after I remove the partial building.

I’ve been using the main template without changing it. Version a20r699.

Also, if I do remove the stuck scaffolding/ladders, is there any way to get the workers to complete the rest of the building? The last try ended up finished except for the doors, a couple of windows, and the oil lamp (after I spent a long time removing the horde of ladders and pieces). :forlorn:

Edited to add: The true name of the template is Red Clay Homes.

If your building is NEARLY complete, and you don’t mind cheating a little bit (if you consider it cheating, I don’t because it’s bugged) You can hit Ctrl+Shift+C to pull up the command prompt, click on your building in build mode, and type in ib and then hit enter. This will complete your building without pulling from your inventory including the removal of scaffolding and ladders, even if they’re stuck inside other blocks.

Good luck, happy poyos!

Thanks, Anotherneko.

I was just hoping I wouldn’t have to do it that way - that removing the offending pieces would start the hearthlings finishing the house.

Also, I wanted to point out that one of the template buildings for Rayya’s Children has some bugs with the scaffolding/ladders.

Not sure if it helps, but let me relate my experience with Rayya’s Children and construction not completing:

I’ve built all stock templates so far, except three (small red, red clay homes, and that shrine thing which I can’t remember). All of them completed successfully, except the basic four-bed dormitory thing. And that, I suspect, may have been my fault.

It got stuck on the very last window. There was a ladder leading up to it, but because I had reshuffled the build order on my potter, the windows were being made last. So all other items had already been completed, and subsequently added to the building. Including the two wall-mounted lamps. One of which, as it happened, was added into a space the ladder crossed through, after the ladder had already been built.

It took me like 8 hours of playtime to consciously notice this. But when I selected that lamp, and told a hearthling to pick it up and move it elsewhere - boom, within seconds another hearthling came running with the missing window. Climbed up, placed it, removed the ladder, building complete. I then told them to move the lamp back to where it was supposed to be, and everything is just as it should be now.

TL;DR: check if anything intersects or blocks access to the ladders, and see if you can manually move it out of the way. I suspect that this normally doesn’t happen if all the resources are present or crafted in the right order, but it may happen if the wrong things are added too early because something else is still missing.

There is a wonderful picture added by @groms that illustrates one of the ladders that I mentioned above:

Yeah, that’s like the one significant building I haven’t finished constructing yet. Figures :stuck_out_tongue:
