[NaB?] Empty snare traps

Title: Empty snare traps

Summary: At some point during my second game with release 114, I noticed that some of the snare traps my trapper had set up were empty, yet fully folded out/sprung up as if an animal was inside. Not sure why this happened, I just noticed it at some point.

Steps to reproduce: Couldn’t say this either, but I would start with making a trapper and setting a zone for them

Versions and mods: No mods, latest release version in Steam at the time of writing, version 0.1.0 (release 114) according to the title screen.

System information:
OS: Windows 8 Pro 64 bits (6.2, build 9200)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
DirectX-version: DirectX 11
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

i noticed this as well… but i chose to think that the animals were too smart for the trap, and managed to steal the bait, trigger the trap, and escape unharmed! :squirrel:

Well Radiant said there is a chance the animal won’t be trapped. Would this be an example of that?

This is very well possible! I hadn’t considered that. I would check if the trapper would at least go back to reset the traps to their original state, but the game in question has pretty much broken due to the head bug. Although actually, the trapper was spared… hm…

thats a good point… i havent verified it myself, but perhaps the trapper does this very thing (over time)?

but in general, i think we’re just dealing with a sprung trap…

Right, so clearly not a bug. I apologize.

The trapper probably resets the traps when they go to check them. I’ll pay attention to this next time, but I think it’s probably fair to close this and label it as NaB.

EDIT: checked, and indeed, the trapper removes both unsprung traps (not sure why, but okay) and sprung, empty traps. All seems to be well.

edit: updated the title, in the event we’re all mistaken, and this is, in fact, a bug…
