I’m not sure if anyone else thinks this is a good idea, but I believe that when giving Hearthlings a large/tall area to mine, they should be able to mine themselves a staircase to the top of the mining area and work their way down. This allows more autonomous mining and not having to struggle to save Hearthlings from places they dig themselves into or onto.

I would appreciate this so much. Even something like automatically building ladders to areas they’ve been unable to mine because it’s too high up.
I couldn’t count the number of times my miners have left a small area behind just because they mined the closest thing first, similar to something [purposely replicated] like this:
