This part happened too in the previous release (or perhaps from 183?). The “bad allocation” part… I don’t think so.

Indeed it’s using more memory than there is available. If you happen to know what was going on in-game when the fatal exception happened, it would be very useful. Thanks for reporting.

what ISNT going on LOL…i was building a storage area, had one worker just getting off a ladder, had my trapper out setting traps, had my shepard tending his flock had a couple workers mining…other than that, oddly enough not much, most of my workers have stopped doing anything and my crafters arent crafting. game runs about 10 to 15 minutes then crashes. have noticed also though that after every time i restart from a save i get raided by 1 to 3 groups of goblins, which i dispatch fairly quickly

how long after you begin a new game, do you start to see performance issues?

played a brand new game today from 3:17 to 5:20. i think it has more to do with the amount of issued commands and/or buildings/items loaded. also this time it crashed when i was trying to get my save to work since you still have to go in and delete out old saves to get a new save after 6 saves. (didnt work, lost about an hour or work this time :/)

Alpha 9 - 256 x64
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
System Model: Latitude D830
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7700 @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

A lot of the game mechanics are much better this build. However, after a couple of hours starting with a new game, the machine began to slow to a crawl. I eventually rebooted and the game was playable again. After another couple of hours, slow to a crawl again. Alpha 8 did not have this problem. Yes, the machine I’m using is not very powerful but it works fine for this type of game.

With a fresh game start, the RAM allocated is about 770MiB. For the game I’m ready to abandon, after 6 hours, the RAM allocated at first load from save is 2.8GiB. I have three buildings and the usual crops and goodies. The population got up to 14 hearthlings before a tactical error allowed 6 to be killed by the nasties. The overall performance degradation looks like either thrashing or serious memory bloat/leak.

I’m also seeing a lot of messages in the error log, particularly when the last of something is used or removed, as if null pointers are not being checked for by calling functions. Another symptom of memory leaks.

Hello!

I can confirm the same, it appears to be related on how your village grow, actually i’ve 15 Villagers, 4 buildings, 4 stockpiles, 3 farms, one sheeping ground, on trapping ground and a 16x8 Hole in the ground.

The game uses almost 3 GB of ram, causing constant lag, every few minutes windows says the game “Stop responding”, at the start it only consumes about 700-800mb.

Also, no matter if i put everything to the max or to the min, the excesive ram consumption still here, i think the game is now unplayable with this lag

My specs:

Alpa 9 - r256 x64
Phenom II x4 945
RAM DDR2 4GB
Radeon R7 260X
Win 7.1 64-bit

My log:

I ran the game in the background and watched the system resources dwindle in front of my eyes

System at rest:

Running a new game:

Loading a game that had previously slowed to a full stop:

Memory approaches critical levels

That’s really strange, the 5gb of memory usage for the 1 .exe is fairly normal.
But i’ve NEVER seen the 2nd .exe get anywhere close to those levels.
Mine normally chills around 250mb tops… :open_mouth:
