Making changes to custom buildings

I built a two story house and at the time i did NOT add a ladder to the second story. How can I open up the second story for my towns members to get up there.

Thanks,

hey there @Dannyboy welcome to the discourse

nabbed a quick screenshot for better explanation.

that button changes the building view, allowing you to see inside your buildings.

I’m so sorry for not explaining well enough.

First off thank you for taking the time to reply. What I meant is: Once a building has been created and constructed. Can we make changes to it?

For example I have a two story building with no access to the second floor. Can i cut out a portion of the second floor and add stairs / ladder?

Thanks again,

D,

oh, apologies for my misunderstanding.

im afraid that currently there isnt a way to do so :disappointed:

however, to my knowledge Team Radiant (the devs) is planning on adding the ability to customize/edit buildings after/during construction.

Yes, unfortunately you can’t edit a building once it’s built (in fact, when you click the Build! button, in the confirm popup that appears right before starting to build, there’s a message that warns you about it.

People don’t like to read, huh? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

On the other hand, yes, it would be useful to be able to edit buildings during/after construction, for situations like yours :disappointed_relieved:

However, if you do save the building as a template, you can edit it the template by selecting it and selecting the position of it. That way you should be able to add a ladder to it.

on the note of custom building it would be nice to have a delete custom buildings button I have so many buildings that don’t work :frowning:

Do you mean when they’re partially built, still being designed, or a template?

once saved as a building to lay down…my custom building screen has so many attempts and circular or three tower buildings. so to be able to remove them from the list…am i missing something?

you currently arent able to delete them in-game, however you can manually delete them from the stonehearth folder, if you have it on steam here’s the file path,

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_objects\stonehearth\building_templates
