Is the Mason really a Mason?

While translating Rayya’s stuff, I came over a detail that wasn’t obvious before. The Mason in Rayya’s children use a “Mason’s clay chisel” while in the Ascendancy the Mason use a simple “Mason’s chisel”. That makes me think the Mason in Rayya’s is really a Mason while the Mason in the Ascendancy is more a Stone cutter or a Quarrier. The difference is not small, on one hand we have in the Ascendancy someone who can cut stones to do blocks and can sculpt/carve stone for fine pieces. On the other hand, in Rayya’s we have someone who use clay to do bricks. Here, the “clay chisel” don’t make sense because there is nothing to cut or sculpt. A more appropriate tool in this case would a be trowel.

Despite most stone constructions use mortar, some do not. So I was wondering if we could not push the cultural difference between Kingdoms a bit more with for the Ascendancy side a “Stone cutter” in place of the actual “Mason” and keep the “Mason” for Rayya’s Children with a new specific tool (trowel).

What do you think?

excellent idea

in that sense your right. but dose the mason in rayya’s kingdom introduce a new plant to farm… something like beans. all I am saying is that rayya’s kingdom mod has a lot that can be done.
beans in the desert… my brain is at work maybe I can have a oasis or a under water dungeon whare the entrance is going down a hot spring.

Isn’t the clay here just the material of the chisel? They’re both for cutting stone.

Perhaps; that said, I have some strong doubts about cutting stone with a chisel made of clay… :astonished:

I agree, although perhaps Rayya’s Children being the masters of clay have discovered super hard polymer clay. The slight flexibility makes them less brittle than normal…

Hummm… polymer… you may be right. :open_mouth:
