I have been playing Stonehearth for a while now and love the depth of creativity when it comes to building structures. However, I have noticed that sometimes the building AI can get a bit confused, especially when it comes to complex designs or multiple floors. My workers either get stuck, take forever, or abandon the project midway.
Has anyone figured out any tips or workarounds to make the building process smoother: ?? I have tried breaking larger designs into smaller chunks but it doesn’t always work. Also, any thoughts on mods or settings that could improve AI behavior during construction would be awesome to hear !!
If you simply want to experience the building elements in the game, you can open the console (Ctrl + C) and use the /ib command to quickly complete the construction of a building. However, this involves cheating elements, which may affect the game’s balance and overall experience.
Completing large building projects in a normal playthrough can indeed be challenging for such an old game. Unfortunately, there are currently no mods available to improve performance or AI. You can try saving and loading frequently and avoid using fast-forwarding as much as possible to help with the task. Good luck!
i have same question like you, this is some trick i use
1/ tracking how it work and defind why they don’t do, if they have another priority of main job or others
2/ use activity maner in citizen menu where you can set priority job for your citizens
3/ reduce lag by store your item in chest not in stockpile zone
To improve the building process in Stonehearth and avoid issues with the building AI, try simplifying complex designs by breaking them into smaller sections, as you’ve done, but also ensure you’re using clear and defined paths for workers to follow. Often, problems arise from workers getting stuck on overlapping tasks or unclear routes. Additionally, make sure your buildings are well-structured with enough room for movement between floors or tight spaces. If you’re comfortable with mods, consider using ones like “Better AI” or “Multitasking” to improve worker efficiency and allow more Hearthlings to work on the same task simultaneously. You might also want to try adjusting the priority settings for certain tasks to help guide the workers more effectively. Regularly clearing obstacles or reorganizing tasks can also help keep the AI on track.
Is this an AI answer? It screams AI answer. Why you would do that?
If you don’t know, don’t ask an AI for an answer then paste it as your own… At least disclaim that you copied it from some chatbot.
Because your answer is simple wrong. You didn’t even try to understand it. There is no such mods. Building in sections is worse. You can’t adjust priorities. You can’t reorganize tasks.
There is a mod that I found really helpful. Its called “creative mode” and its on the Steam workshop. It allows you to select a Hearthling and teleport them if they ever get stuck while building or mining. It has a lot of other features too that I consider cheating so I don’t use them. However I have the mod installed just for the teleport feature for when my Hearthlings inevitably get stuck.
You don’t need a mod for teleport. Open the console (Ctrl+C), make sure the unit you want is selected first, then type teleport. You can now click somewhere on the world to teleport them.
Depending on the situation, not even this cheat is necessary. If someone is really stuck, you can open their character page, and there will be a teleport button there.
