Game freeze -- not sure what caused it

Title:
Game freeze seemingly out of nowhere

Summary:
It was night and most of my citizens were sleeping and I was killing time by looking at the farms my farmer had created (one for turnips, one for corn) and selecting their various components. At some point, the game suddenly froze, not sure if related to anything I was doing or what. Music continued, I could move the mouse and + out and everything, I can still select things and move the camera, but not move the camera or zoom.
Among some other things I noticed is that Alaina Berall was sleeping on the ground when I’ve had the beds placed for quite a while. I had started a fourth building, some trees were being cut down, my farmer was for some reason carrying rocks instead of farming and I had a pet fox running around town. Also my trapper had been far away, was getting hungry, and was on her way back to base. Like I said, not sure what caused it so I figured I’d just mention several things that were going on.

Steps to reproduce:
As I don’t know what caused it, I can’t say. It may have had something to do with my selecting the farm components, maybe?

Expected results:
Not really sure what to say about “results” since I don’t know the cause to begin with, but obviously, the game not freezing is what’s expected.

Attachments:
Not sure how helpful it will be in this case, but I figured I might as well take a screenshot and attach it.
