Summary:

A level1 farmer can create any type of field/crop (bypassing the level restrictions). The level restrictions only take effect if you’re changing an existing field from one type of crop to another type of crop.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start new game, buy hoe at “party generator” screen to save time, and embark
  2. Promote worker to farmer
  3. Create level6 tree sapling field with your level1 farmer

Expected Results:

Level restriction applied when creating a new field.

Actual Results:

Level restriction not applied when creating a new field.

I can confirm. At first all crops are available. Once you select one, and then attempt to change the crop, the restrictions appear (some crops get disabled).

This is reproducible on any new farm you create.

Summary:
It seems growing corn is more tricky then you think. It’s an extremely mysterious and secretive crop. You can put it on the fresh field, but can’t replace another crop with it in the beginning of the game.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start Rayya’s Children. Select a farmer’s hoe as a starting tool. (No idea if relevant, but you’ll need the hoe)
  2. Select a hearthling to be your Mr. Kent. Make two plots of farmland (mine were 5x11). (I’ve also trained my farmer to lvl 1. Not sure if relevant).
  3. Put corn on one of the plots. Put any other crop on another.
  4. Try to change the crop on the other field to corn.
  5. …wut?

Expected Results:
Either corn should be available for fresh fields AND for replacing other crops
OR
It should have a minimum farmer level requirement for BOTH of these actions.

Actual Results:
You can put corn on any fresh field. No farmer level required. Replacing other crops with corn, however, requires Farmer lvl 2.

Attachments:

As you can see, I already have corn growing on one of the fields, but can’t change any other field to corn. A workaround is to destroy a field, then create it again.

Can confirm, same bug but with Ascendancy. Planted trees first thing in a desert biome, then discovered I was supposed to wait until I had a Level 6 farmer…

normally it should only be able to place with lvl2 ^^ but it was just released and is buggy :wink: no infos which lvl is required and at the start you can place all of them without restriction.

This is a bug where the crop requirements don’t show up when you first create a farm, only when you try to change the crop.

Summary:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Run into a new game
  2. Go fast buy the hoe and make farm fields of every kind of plant crops

Expected Results:
Level restriction works as soon as you start a new game

Actual Results:
Level restriction for farm fields doesn’t work you can do every variety you want.
Level restriction applies only after the greetings of the traveler who bring baskets of food to your town
