So I just got an update and launched the game, and notice the start screen is different! First off, it’s really cool! However, I will say that I do miss the beautiful and gorgeous art that used to be there instead. I can probably get over that, however.
My suggestion is as follows: I’d like to see my own Hearthlings in simulated screenshots on that screen, instead of someone else’s random Hearthlings. Basically, I think it’d be really neat if, at random times during any of my playthroughs, the game would “snapshot” my Hearthlings in their outfits and customization options, and put them on the home screen in simulated positions instead of how it is currently with screenshots of random Hearthlings.
I realize this could cause problems, especially with modded customization options. (What if you snapshot modded characters but turn off that mod on the home screen?) However I’m sure there are ways to circumvent that, such as simply defaulting to a vanilla hairstyle if the modded asset cannot be found.
so, basicly xcom 2 style

Yes! Except it doesn’t necessarily need to be ANIMATED, it could still be static screenshots of a random town, just with our Hearthlings in the screenshots instead of random ones. (New players could of course get random Hearthlings on the screen, just like in Xcom 2)
