Building error or trouble building

Game was working earlier today, then suddenly it becomes unable to build a building. Get an error, and the “planning progress” bar shoots across to the right of the screen. Builders don’t get the orders automatically. They also start mining out more around the edges of the building than they should.

I think it’s when your placing a premade building, and edit it to add some road on, something goes wrong.
