Hey @kanalgrufti, you can check these things and see if any of them helps:
- Make sure you have your graphic drivers updated from your manufacturer’s website (auto-updaters don’t always detect correctly that there’s an update)
- Check if your antivirus/firewall is blocking the game.
- Remove any old mods that you have installed, they might be incompatible with the latest version.
- Check the stonehearth.log file for errors. It’s inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth.
- Verify integrity of the game cache on Steam.

Black screen with music is almost always due to a anti-malware, firewall, security, or privacy software.
Here’s a list of programs that have been know to cause problems:
If you’re running any of those, try disabling it to see if it’s the problem. If it is, see if you can make an exception for Stonehearth in their software.

im having the same issue but i eventually found a temp fix by running in windows xp compatibility
Make sure you’re filling out your own bug report post with all of the necessary information, by making a new thread. Bringing back a 2 year old thread without any viable information is frowned upon. @Dominic_Coppernoll
