Awesome Voxel Games to Play!

One game that meets all the criteria, with the small exception of the fully-customizable character, in which case there isn’t as large a base of skins as with Minecraft, but my suggestion would be that of Star Made. It is a space version of Minecraft to some extent. You start out on a space platform, and a small inventory of starter parts to build your first spaceship. You can also buy new bricks, or craft more yourself with the factory parts to make bigger, better ships or space/planet stations. There is also a creative mode, so to speak, so that you can build to your heart’s content.

Thanks for the feedback anyone, and also sorry for the lack of responses/replies I had reached my maximum limit of daily posts yesterday so i couldn’t reply, but the time limit has worn off…and I have some claims to make about some the recommended games.

Oh trust me my good friends, I know Cube World alright, I’ve even played it for a while. It’s more of a “grindy” adventuring game, and doesn’t have any building qualities whatsoever, but the crafting system is quite a feat.

Timber and Stone is really “similar” to Stonehearth in some ways and I kinda don’t like playing two types of games in the same genre.

Ok, I have to admit my requirements are almost completely based off of Minecraft…

I wish I could Voxel Pirate, but my PC can’t even run it, but luckily I’ll be getting a better PC before the Pre-Release.

Trove definitely seems nice, I watched a few lets plays, and it seems good - the only problem is that (like Cube World), It’s more combat and exploration oriented, but the building seems quite promising…

Dude, no hard feelings - but, thats never gonna happen with me…

I know about this as well, and once again - It seems more Cube World and Trove like.

JANUARY 2014!?, by then I probably would have modded Stonehearth to my liking! I’d be playing SH 24/7.

Rimworld seems nice, I might even play it - but Violence isn’t 100% toggle-able, It’s only about 95% toggle-able.

Not very blocky, still a good recommendation, though.

Anyone ever played Total Miner? It was basically Minecraft on Xbox before Minecraft came out on Xbox. It’s actually quite fun, especially with a party full of you. A few differences were that recipes needed to be discovered, and that if you dug straight down you could go to Hell, and then even further was the proper Hell. It was actually really fun, even if probably a MC rip-off.

true, the casual mode does bring on the (very) occasional raider… but there are some modding efforts underway (by the fans) that allow for tweaking this further i believe… and Tynan (developer) is working feverishly on the modding aspects now…

Even though I have an Xbox, It just sits in the cold dark corner, whilst my PC shines with its glory.

Rimworld FTW, I’m still open for suggestions though…

heard of it, but never really looked too closely… thanks!

and wow… i suppose its no surprise, after 3 seconds of searching, here are two other clones…

Yupp, friends have all of the above. I only have Total Miner, but I saw other people playing the above 2. I think our favourite as a group would be Total Miner though, possibly because of its encouragement of exploration, or ‘crusades’ as we would have them.

The short, frustrating time I spent with Timber & Stone bored the hell out of me. Micro-management to death and no character to play that draws you into the game. More of a god-like game where you look down from above and make them do things… every thing… ugh. I hope StoneHearth learns from this…

No wonder the Stonehearth Devs said they didn’t what micro management in their game. Nobody has the time to sort through 100 character panels…

yes, i will concede this point… in fact, its taken away a lot of my enjoyment of the game… but for those who crave the micro aspect, it’s there, in spades…

Now, what I don’t like about Trove is that the thick outlines on their blocks, it just makes them look super icky. I think that Cube World definitely did a better job of their graphics, but of course, Trove is still a developing game, and it’s graphics might change as it develops.

Trove sounds to me like a “simple” version of EverQuest Landmark, no?

Well if you really think about it, I guess it could… :thought_balloon:

Wasn’t saying it was, just a suggestion. CoD4 should never be forgotten. =D

Can anyone tell me if Godus is any good?

And which one is better:

Godus VS Castle Story?

Can’t recommend CastleSTory at the moment. Development goes freaking slow. Somehow the game still has basically the same features as the very first build months ago. The dev team struggles with its own game.
But it still is a nice game to pass some time.

I’ve played Godus only for 1or2 hours but the first problem is that the game does not feature 720p resolution. That’s because the devs focus on mobile platform development…sadly…

WOW WOW WOW… A possible sequel to the black and white series isn’t in 720 p? -.-
God… I miss the days from black and white

I haven’t been hearing great news from any of those two games really, but they do spark my intrest. It’s just that they are both on sale on steam atm

Get CastleStory. In its current state it reminds me of the old Minecraft days, back when it only costed 10$. Bug and feature wise
The game lacks a manual but when you got into the basics you can build amazing castles.

But again, development goes reeeaaaallyyyyyy slooooow.

castle story would probably be my pick, between the two… i have heard very few positive things about godus…

and, as was mentioned, once you get past some of the UI and control issues in CS, you can build some fun things…
