MODULAR BOARD GAME – CUSTOM TILE PROGRESS
It’s getting green! Today i’ve painted the board tiles with shades of green and applied a finely granulated structure on the surface so figures won’t glide too much on them. The good news is that even with a color layer the assembling still works perfect …the not so good news is that the jigsaw parts are still not optimized yet. I should change the design so that on every edge is a inward and outward jigsaw part. Nevertheless i have to say it’s fun to play with the tiles and construct the first mini-maps! :]
Worked also on the digital content that i want to try as board pieces on my new game board. With Qubicle Constructor i did modeling game parts like trees, wood logs, treasure chest, a well and some tiny monsters. As mentioned, can a fantasy themed game be fun without treasures & monsters?! The digital models i’ve exported and uploaded to Shapeways to do a quick price check, but Shapeways is pretty expensive so i need to find a better solution for the parts. I also had some spare time to made some general researches about 3d printing.
