This morning the game started showing (in text) what every moving entity was doing over their heads.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start game.
  2. Everyone has labels over their heads.
  3. Uninstall all mods and verify game files.
  4. Start game.
  5. Everyone has labels over their heads.

Expected Results:
Normal game play
Actual Results:
Text descriptions over every moving entity (people and animals).

No mods. unsubscribed from all and verified game file.

Edit: nope, that is to show coords.

It’s a console command called show_animation_text.
Try calling it with false: show_animation_text false and then restart the game.

It is giving me “unknown command”

Enable the debugtools mod.

How did you get this if you didn’t use that command on accident? :thinking:

I had debug tools enabled yesterday, then when I was trying to fix it I turned off every non essential mod trying to track it down. I just enabled debug tools and went and did it again. it worked!!! Thank you for helping me!
Edit: Also my kitten likes to stand on the keyboard and watch the Hearthlings work!

Does someone know how to get rid of the texts that are showing above my hearthlings because it’s really laggy

Open the default console (Ctrl+C) and type show_animation_text false and then restart the game.

You might need to enable the debugtools mod first.
