[Res] Game always crashes after I settle my town or right before I settle!

Summary: Every time I start a new game, I can do everything up to the point where I start my town, then it crashes (never fails). I uninstalled the game twice and re-installed, still no changes. I even turn graphics down and draw distance (didn’t think that was the problem anyway, but that didn’t work either)

can you tell us which version of the game you’re running? you mentioned reinstalling, but we’ve seen cases where completely deleting the existing Stonehearth folders during the process is even more effective … :+1:

Hi,@SteveAdamo I’m running 0.11.0 (release 453) x64 build and I will try deleting the folder now and see if that fixes the issue. Thanks

@SteveAdamo hey, so I deleted all the existing Stonehearth folders and re-installed everything, it looked to be going fine but then the game crashed again as my guys were cutting down trees.

hmm… could you provide you stonehearth.log file?

it should be located in the stonehearth folder.

@Albert can probably check if the crash is due to 3rd party software.
With the stonehearth.log we can verify if graphic drivers are up to date…

@8BitCrab hey, i"m trying to upload my stonehearth.log file but it says “new users cannot upload attachments” into the reply box. In the log there is a lot of " rpc | critical error in http reactor: could not remove trace" and " lua.code | could not find path for lua script" though.

If it’s not too long you can even copy paste the text here, and if the system flags it as spam we can undo the flag. You should be able to upload your own files once you’ve wandered around in the forum for a while, posted or liked some comments, etc.

Hmm… I think that you might have your drivers outdated, but I’m not sure. You can check here Download Drivers or here Desktop

Other than that, you’re crashing with stable Alpha 11…
Have you tried playing in window mode or with the 32bit version?

Drivers seem to be up to date, but i’ll try windows mode and see if that does anything.

That’s why I said that probably Albert or any of the devs can take a look if you opted-in for sending crash reports. There’s still other things to try.

@shawnjt1 - I didn’t get a crash report from that ID, so it’s probably a graphics driver crash. The drivers appear to be 2 years old. If you haven’t already, try to update them from this link:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Second, you have AMD’s dual graphics chips. See if you can use their control panel to force it to use the faster chip.
