Have you updated to the latest Alpha 11 - 2521 to see if it improves something?
People with similar rigs than you are also having crashes lately, and with updated graphics and all. Also there might be some application interferring with the game, I guess you already read this topic:
When you tried uninstalling and reinstalling, did you delete the Stonehearth folder manually?
Sometimes Steam forgets to remove some files.
