[Res] [Alpha 9]64 Bit Version doesnt recognize Graphics card and crashes after generating world

Hmm. Just to make absolutely sure, can you post your latest log @untrustedlife? I just want to make sure you’re on the latest version.

As for why your system isn’t launching Stonehearth with the nVidia card, I’m not sure. It really shouldn’t be crashing anymore with Intel, but ideally we’d like to use that nice and powerful nVidia card.

here, I ran the 64 bit version to the crash.

Excellent, thank you! I was able to locate your crash dump.

The error looks eerily similar to this AMD problem we were having, except that I fixed that…

The simplest thing you can try that will almost certainly work is to just upgrade your intel display drivers here. In th mean time, I will try to understand why older Intel drivers are having trouble. Then, getting Stonehearth to run via your nVidia card will be the next problem on my list…

It occurred to me, that there is something else you can try…

So, you posted above that you created a new nVidia profile for stonehearth.exe. There are actually two such .exe files, one for the 32-bit version, and one for the 64-bit version. Did you make one for both?. It may be that there needs to be a profile for both.

If that doesn’t work, than there’s one more thing you can try: rename the stonehearth.exe file you use to launch the game to doom3.exe.

Seriously. (Just don’t forget to rename it back when you’re done trying this!)

This may trick the nVidia launcher stuff to say, “Oh, I know this application, it really needs the discrete card, so I’d better run with that on!” This is supposed to be what creating a stonehearth.exe nVidia profile does, but these things can be…temperamental, to say the least. For example, I know of some HP Pavillion laptops that cannot run OpenGL games with the discrete card, unless you actually force the discrete card to run via the bios. Yuck. So, I’m trying to narrow down what the problem could be…

I have a profile for both versions
ill try the doom thing.

edit:
welp… it didnt work.

Though I would ask, has this been worked on more yet?

I don’t have access to my laptop right now (road trip)

Update:

Its been awhile since I last played, but, at some point , during the last few updates, and after updating my computer to windows 8.1, this seems to be fixed. Thread may be closed now.

It is also noticing my nvidia card again.

Woo! Glad it worked. We have been messing with a bunch of settings, maybe something between them and the update worked out!
