Points are not co-linear - in function 'compute_wall_measurements'

I recently built a new house and got this same error, however; I have since deleted the template and the building and now whenever I load into a game save I get the following error.

release-489 (x64)
stonehearth/components/wall/wall_component.luac:121: points are not co-linear
stack traceback:
	[C]: ?
	[C]: in function 'assert'
	stonehearth/components/wall/wall_component.luac:121: in function '_compute_wall_measurements'
	stonehearth/components/wall/wall_component.luac:9: in function <stonehearth/components/wall/wall_component.luac:8>

I have the same error, I can no longer place pastures or farms.

Hey there @Hahentamashii, welcome to the Discourse!

The error posted above should not prevent pastures and farms from being placed. Can you possibly upload the save game where this is occurring for the devs to review?

To upload a savegame, locate the folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games (assuming a default Steam install), zip the folder, and upload it. If the *.zip is less than 10 MB, feel free to upload it directly to the Discourse. If larger, please upload it to a cloud storage site like Dropbox, Google Drive, File Dropper, etc. and post the sharing link here.

Ahhh, sorry, it’s not exactly the same, both say ‘points are not co-linear.’

Thanks for taking a look.

Hey again @Hahentamashii, your errors do look nearly identical, the only difference I see is a missing underscore in the 6th line, and that is likely just due to the different game version. Regardless, can you possibly upload this save game?

I’ll see if I can figure it out, I’m new the boards today.

No worries, if you have any questions about how to work the forums, let me know!

Thanks, here’s the game in my drop box.

I’ve had some other issues, but I chocked it up to ‘alpha.’ I was finally able to get my hearthlings to build a two story building, but they only completed part of it, and refused to go on. So I removed it, and they only took about half of it down. So I’ve got some ruins in there. I also tried to create a building over a small expanse, and that’s when the error originally occurred.

Thanks for the save game. Paging @albert and @not_owen_wilson so they can review this error when they are working on improving the building editor and AI. Building removal was only added in Alpha 13, so there are likely to be some issues to work through in getting it to work on every building. If you want to remove the remaining part of the building, you should be able to use the in-game console the do so. To open the console, type Ctrl + c on your keyboard, then click on the building (or any other object in game) you wish to remove, and type destroy in the console. If you have issue clicking the building, you may need to open the build menu first it order to get it selected. Hope this helps !

Edit: typo!

I’ll try this out and let you know how it goes. Maybe deleting it will fix the rest of my problems. Who know. XD

And thanks for being helpful.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that delete came back as unknown command. So I tried destroy and that worked.

Yeah…my bad! The command is most definately destroy, NOT delete. This is what happens when I am responding to posts past my bedtime ! Glad you got it figured out. To see a list of all commands, you can type help into the console (yes, I am sure this time ).

Hello! I figured something out last night, and it is mostly that I am really dumb. Haha. Because you can place small stock piles and small farms, I assumed that you could place smaller sized pastures and that’s why I thought I was having an error. I thought maybe I didn’t have enough shepherds so I promoted a trapper and then it donned on me… maybe the space was too small. Well, that’s what I get for assuming. Thanks for all the help, and sorry for making you think there was a bug that there isn’t.

I am still having the error posted above though, every time I open the game.
