New villager spawns in an inaccessible area

Here you go

i dont see a ladder

so, did you actually have something for them to do? like chop down trees or build or something?

Lol, I did, but I didn’t save the first game before closing it. I recreated the underwater part in a new game for the screenshot, but I didn’t build a ladder or issue any orders. In the first game the underwater guys just milled around while everyone else went to chop logs.

Oh, I first thought that a new hearthling (those from the daily update) spawned underwater (just like the zombies on one of the last livestreams) - until I saw the screenshot.

Of course they won’t be able to climb without a ladder.

There’s currently nothing in there for them to drown. Swimming animations alone were just added.

or maybe its the fact they dont have mouths or noses

I just had a similar Problem where I let my guys dig away a corner in a lake so that tey dug themselves into the water. They would not come out, no matter what an even slept in the lake…
A ladder was built and i wanted to build a stair when my lecture continued…

but they do the breathing animation and all >_>

maybe hearthlings are magical then…

Maybe the black lines on their faces are actually their nostrils =P
Multi-purpose nostrils which can also eat food, like some sort of weird space alien xD

Hearthlings seem to love swimming, no matter what I try, mine just don’t want to get out of the water

Just to confirm this still happens in [R-393 x64]…

Mine DID leave the water though lol.

You can build a ladder for them to climb out. Not sure how that works if they’re multiple z-levels down though.

Well I’ve ā€œsolvedā€ having other toons dig staircases under the sea. Thanks for the stairs tip anyway  Sady it spawned so far that the other toons just ignored the ā€œbuild a damn ladder to save this poor toontardā€

make them a attack group and force one out there to build the ladder?

I have had to do that for odd ball placed people.

Normally I had but the toons had pathfinding problems :frowning:

ahh ok, what about opening up the console and doing the reset, you may be able to force him close to the edge?

for pathfinder, you can always pause the game for a few minutes, that seems to help as well.
