Map Game: Awesomeness!

I @claymanr start training warriors

Cultural: The Ming Dynasty opens several new “Imperial Universities”, where people can take their civil entrance exam tests, learn, and study.

Diplomatic: Tensions flare over the colonization of Sakhalin, but are eased after an agreement is hammered out.

Military: The Ming Dynasty sends several large junks to begin colonizing the Sakhalin Islands.

Military: I build up a Great bamboo wall around the whole island with wet mud at the front so it doesn’t explode and kill everyone
Diplomatic: I send a diplomatic to @Heilari for trade and an alliance
Cultural: I make a lot of farms on Taprobane with irrigation of where we heat cold water filled bamboo sticks and throw them into the farms so they explode and spread the water everywhere
And also @newf agreed to the trade and now we are best
best of friends till time itself ends.

so yeah

Military
Poland finally got access to the Baltic Sea after loss in XII century. Port cities of Gdansk, Konigsberg or Riga are finally allowing the King to have Navy. The King requests his first fleet and strenghtens again the west border (with HRE)

Diplomatic
King of Poland hereby accepts the Swedish offer (“trade crops for an Alliance”). Polish Diplomats are still expanding the union with the Lithuania in hope to ‘merge’ two countries, already being under control of one ruler.

Cultural
King renovates the old Academia Cracovia and founds Jagiellonian University. Research is focused on naval technology.

King requested to send the newest ‘Empire Map’ to the other nations considered as empires “in the act of good will”:

thx for the the update of map

No offense, but I think the map above suits the game a bit better.

No problem for me. I just like ‘playing’ with maps and that one (on Google Docs) was an WPI (“Weird Phor’s Idea”). Dunno if it ever will be useable.

At the moment I am writing all the changes in the last 10 years to do an update for 1420.
Ming expanded in Manchu
Poland conquered Teutonic Order
Australia starts expanding (Tasmania at the moment?)
Tasmania and New Zealand I believe.

Slight correction: Nihongo is the Japanese language. Nihon is Japan. Nihonjin are the Japanese people.

Cultural: Tea ceremony is developed into a practice. Invests in tea production.

Military: Disconcerted by The Ming Dynasty’s colonization of the Sakhalin Islands, moving their borders closer to Nihon, the Shogun orders the invasion of Ezochi (Hokkaido Island).

Diplomacy: Nihon humbly accepts the Ming Dynasty’s offering and instructs a few of their entourage the basics of Jujutsu. Tennō (The Emperor) sends @Swift_Cube a luxurious katana to honor their friendship.

-bows to @Swift_Cube; Onegaishimasu.

@Swift_Cube why is finland in Norway?

Military: I surround Faroe Islands and prepare to invade.
Diplomatic: I send a diplomat to see if we can establish our fishing rights. I wish to extend my nautical lands from 200-250 miles until the war with Faroe Islands is done.
Cultural: I research how to build more efficient fishing boats and how to store fish longer.

If only those ‘map updates’ happend, then I think *.png map in 1420 looks like this:

Note, the new empire (Finland) has some of former swedish territories (like Iceland and Sweden had in 1410, separated from Kalmar Union a.k.a. Denmark) :stuck_out_tongue:

The Emperor is pleased by your gift of the precious sword, and will be in the family for many years.

However, the Ming would like to ease your worries of Chinese expansionism. I ask of a deal: We will split the Sakhalin Islands, Nihon to the south, the Ming to the North.

@phoriist, can you expand the Ming holdings in Manchuria a bit more? It had more in the map I provided.

Tennō accepts the deal and apologizes for the need to invade Ezochi. The previous Mongolian invasions have left the Nihonjin anxious of foreign powers closing in on their borders.

Done, but I newer knew Manchuria was that big as you got on your map.
(Expansion based at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchuria ) :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT
Heh, I am really…‘original’.
Political Map
Finished for year 1420.Spend 1,5 hours to make all lands in Google Pictures. Now I am adding nations, both minor and major ;p

The Ming are pleased by your understanding, @Avairian. May our peace and friendship last a thousand years.

@phoriist sorry for being imprecise, I just meant “Manchuria” loosely as a term for Northern China.

@thorbjorn42gbf Grrrr, more map errors? I shall take out the Hammer of Correctness! Behold its mighty power! (Should be fixed son)

Im surprised none has picked a countries in the Andes like Bolivia or Peru as its well guarded with oceans and mountains it has great religion maize totora reeds the best reed for a boat as it could carry heavy stones and it has LLAMAS!!!

Bolivia and Peru have been created way later than 1400 AD
But there are Incan or Mayan civs there…

Finland orders the building of bloomery’s (for smelting iron) and to begin the production of iron

Finland establish a leidang system (they can call every man in the kingdom to join the army always)

finland sends a nobleman as an ambasodor to @EpicDwarf

Culture: Develop education and infrastructure some more, I’m going to need for my boats.
Diplomatic: Send emissaries out throughout the minor pacific islands and Papua New Guinea on their way to the Philippines with the purpose of more assimilation. Share our advances and show them the benefits of becoming states in The Empire.
Military: Send my navy to wow Indonesia with it’s superior technology and hopefully convince them it’s in their better interests to become a state peacefully. Otherwise just demonstrate our superior technology on some of them and then show them gifts to coerce them, either or.

How does interaction with NPC’s work? Since there is a fair few of them nearby to me that I wish to annex as states.
