I cant move beds when they're close together

I create a cave, then room with beds, but they dont want to use that beds. They are stuck in this room, cant even move somwhere.

The beds are toom close together.

Destroy one bed on each side.
CRTL + C opens up the console
Click on one of those beds, then click on the console and write destroy

This should fix it.

or alternatively, if you dont want to destroy the beds, you could simply mine one more “chunk” (4x4 area) out beside those last beds.

also, not sure this is really a bug as its just the beds being to close together…

I guess the question is whether or not clay beds should be accessible from the front/back, or only the sides. Will need someone (like @yshan) to confirm.

I believe beds are only accessible from the sides, so you need to leave a space in between.

just checked in-game (with the debug keys) and from what i could tell they are only accessible from the sides.

@yshan, could the collision region of beds (and other items with similar issues) be changes such that you cannot place them in a way that makes them unremovable?

Not being able to sleep in them like this is not a bug, sure, but not being able to move them? Seems like a pretty clear bug to me.

its not a bug because the beds were put to close together, if there was a one block wide gap on the side of any of the beds they would be able to move them. at least that should be the case, if @Frostylady mines out the blocks next to one of the beds and they still cant move them, then its definitely a bug.

so really i’m not considering it a bug until she gets back to us upon whether that fixed the problem or not.

hope that clears up any confusion.

I still disagree, if it can be placed that way, it should be able to be picked back up. The player should not be able to get themself in this situation. Mining out the rock is a way to bypass it yes, but this is a problem.

yea its alfa so if something wrong, we should write that. like Memige said, if i can place it i should can move it. its ok if they dont want to sleep that way. of course i can destroy a wall, but what if that happened in buildings? i cant remove wall. its still bug  we need to find them all for that great game

Two questions:

Did you place those four beds before the walls were done being built?

Now that the building is complete, are there stairs or a ladder for your Hearthings to use in order to reach the second floor?

I ask because they cannot place, move or remove items that they cannot reach. (though the game doesn’t yet tell the player what the problem is, so I understand the confusion.)

I think the issue is that the beds are too close to each other–the workers can only currently access them from the sides. Someone else had a similar situation, and once they used the console commands to delete one of the beds they were able to remove the others normally.

Here’s that report of the same issue: I cant move bed in cave. Should this be merged with that report, @jomaxro?

thanks well . first, i think it can move the bed by optional be the side of the bed.
becuase they can put it on the floor too close.

no love for the Crab

edit:

seeing as this isn’t just a one time problem, i’ve decided move it back into bug reports.

Well if you want, you can change the title, since it seems the problem isn’t tied to deployment/undeployment in caves…
