Hearthlings not able to use containers next to, but below them

Title:
Hearthlings too high for pot.

Summary:
Hearthlings are able to pathfind to a location above a container, but are unable to place items and remain stuck until other priorities (eating, sleeping) take over.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Dig 2x2 hole 1 unit deep.
  2. Place 2x2x2 urn inside hole.
  3. Force item storage to container by enabling that item’s filter on only that container
  4. Obtain item via crafting, harvesting, etc…

Expected Results:
Hearthlings should be able to place items into containers that they can pathfind to.

Actual Results:
Hearthlings pathfind and go to location, then wait until other priorities take over. Item is dropped and another hearthling will repeat the process.

Notes:

  • The container can successfully be moved/removed from the hole, despite not being able to put items into it.

I thought that’s what I was seeing! I’ll confirm it happens in my game as well. I had to move my pots from around my irrigation field to off to the side.

Title: Storage Glitch

Summary: When having a storage chest of any kind at a different height level as the hearthling they glitch out and will attempt to place the items in the chest but rather than do this they just switch back and forth between the items they are trying to place into storage

Steps to reproduce:

  1. place a storage chest at a different (usually lower) level than the hearthlings
  2. have them haul items to it

Expected Results: Hearthlings placing items into chest

Actual Results: Hearthlings juggling like a bunch of buffoons and mergin into one super hearthling ready to destroy the world
