Happiness meter mechanic

I was thinking more of you can check each individual but you have a bar that is the overall average with highest and lowest in different colours, and then if you click on it you will be given the top 3 of each (high and Low) and then look at why they are unhappy or are happy.

Sounds very Sim City’s Approval Rating. Which isn’t wholly a bad thing. It could be something as simple as an indicator telling you how well you’re taking care of your settlement. Or something as complex as providing individual buffs/debuffs. Personally, I’d like to see the prior. Just an indicator. Because being negative or positive is a pro/con in itself. If your people are getting hungry too often, are being overworked, don’t have enough supplies… things like that, it would certainly show up as unhappy, meaning you have a problem somewhere. And if they’re happy, you must already have an efficient process. Either way you could get a quick judge of what you need to try and improve on. It’s like guided settlement building, without telling you how to fix everything.

no I don’t want buffs/or de-buffs i just want some that says your people are unhappy because food is not reaching outer settlement 5 and a bar seems like a good way of doing it, ( I kind of just want my jester model in the game but shush) maybe its could be like certain jobs provide buffs to the community like the jester increases productivity by 5%

I believe what you’re getting at is simply something to notify you if something’s not going great, and you want it in the form of a happiness bar, no? So nothing really game-altering, simply alerting you to problems?

Because I believe Tom mentioned something about notifications like this, however not in the medium of a happiness bar. I think he suggested you be told if there weren’t enough food/beds for an extended period of time, I can’t quite remember it, but I believe there was something on this in one of the streams.

Yea that’s pretty much it! sadly I don’t watch the live streams so…
maybe different classes could give your community buffs? but that’s a different topic
