Game speed x2 is normal speed x1 is slow

I always play this game at x2 speed during “non-combat”

Patroling soldiers look like they move in slow-motion if I have speed at x1.

Is there a way to get x3 or x4 into the game so that I can “fast forward” when building?

There is an x3 option in the menu, however there is a warning to it, that may be unstable. It is there though. You just have to check the box in options menu.
