Ummm technically this was already what was goinâ on in the original version of this thread. Desktop Tuesday: Multiplayer Plenty of folks having a serious discussion there.
I have an idea for what happens when a player DCâs while the game is still running.
His hearthlings could automatically go to the nearest unoccupied bed and sleep or, if there are no nearby beds, they will go to an area (letâs say, 10 block radius from the town flag) and lay down to sleep. They will remain sleeping, without getting hungry, until the player logs back in.
To prevent unnecessary/unfair hearthling deaths (if the user crashes or logs out unintentionally), if an hearthling is in immediate danger (ie. in a fight), it will keep on fighting until he either kills the enemy or decides to run away (out of courage).
If a player is disconnected, the game will not recognise his sleeping hearthlings as enemies, unless the enemies gets within a certain range of them.
- The lack of recognition as enemies will allow his hearthlings to not be targetted when enemies spawn randomly.
- The ârangeâ where they become targetable will prevent players exploiting DC allies as âshieldsâ or âdecoysâ or a player from going DC to save his hearthlings.
Finally, there should be a function (which you probably already have in mind) to vote for a player to get kicked from a server, and all his hearthlings/structures will be destroyed instantly (imagine a player logging in, placing a huge ammount of stockpile area, leaving no room for other players)
Cheers! ^^
I think we should be able to play as the different species like the Orcs or the Humans and all other kinda of evil and nice creatures (in reasonable boundries we donât want people playing as bunnies) then it would add more depth for the war button to attack the enemy and steal there resources like they do in singleplayer
