Qubicle Competition Model Submission. Cycle 2, Week 4, The Final - ‘A New Titan’

So here it is, the fourth and final week of the second cycle of the Stonehearth Qubicle competition, and the theme for this week is - “A New Titan”

Our finalists for this cycle are: @voxel_pirate @Xavion @Smokestacks @Public_Static @jonyon54 @TobiasSabathius and our first wildcard - @Agon

Just to go over the rules once more:

 • You can only submit one model per week.
 • The model can be anything related to the theme, as long as it can be achieved with the free version of Qubicle - no post-production effects, animations, etc.
 • Vote for as many models as you want - simply ‘like’ their post by clicking the heart at the bottom of the submission.
 • Keep all discussion of this week over [urlhttp://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/qubicle-competition-discussion-thread-cycle-2-week-4-the-final-a-new-titan/2642] here, as anything in this thread that isn’t a model will be moved or deleted.

Model submissions will close on the 25th August, and the winners of this cycle will be announced on the 26th August.

<We want to see models regardless of ability and quality as we’re thinking about the possibility of having future awards such as ‘most improved modeller’, so don’t feel like you can’t submit!>

Check out the upcoming theme’s for the next 4 weeks of the competition at the [urlhttp://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/qubicle-competition-theme-schedule/2403] theme schedule thread.

You can download Qubicle basic [urlhttp://www.minddesk.com/purchase.php] here .

“We are the Borg. Your biological and technological distinctiveness
will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.”

Let me introduce a different Titan, inspired by this thread… “The Borg Queen”:

Alright here we go. It’s starting to get towards the end of the week so here’s an entry, I’ll keep working on it and hopefully I’ll have a better version by the end of the week. They’re all based off an idea for a mod I have so they might end up in game at some point, I’ll also probably make a thread as I can only show you this one here. This one is based off the mimic’s you might remember from fantasy games, the monster turns into a chest and then attacks you when you try to open it. This is what would happen if you took a boss version, combined with giant undead super zombie robots and then made it several thousand times bigger. It can fake being a ruin, the 4 tiers above it in power can fake towns, countries, continents, and planets. They’d be too unbalanced to put into a game though if you could have an entire planet turn out to be a disguised monster.
First it’s location, a Perfectly Normal Shrine. You’ll find actual normal shrines that look like this.

Now for a couple of pictures.

Some shots for scale.

Note the castle in the image above, it’s still there along with the house and person.

Some stats if anyone cares, It has a bit over 17,000,000 vertices, 115,000 teeth and is over 1300m long and 20m wide. It also will not attack unless provoked so you don’t need to worry too much, just don’t go desecrating mysterious shrines and you should be right, although you probably shouldn’t be doing that anyway as you might anger a god, not that there’s much difference at this size.

The Giant Turtle is a peaceful creature, but be careful! it might try to eat your trees!

Right sorry for the lateness of the hour but I am done…

after wasting too much time at work and then not getting my ideas straight for the titan this is the result.

I will hold my hands up and pre-disqualify myself as I had to do some moving about a bit in Maya as the legs in Qubicle make it look like it had just been stepped on and not the terrifying titan it is supposed to be. I have only used flat lighting and no shadows when exporting the pics.
If you can forgive me all the better.

All that being said allow me to introduce Great Attercopp…

p.s. Animating this sucker is going to be a blast :snake: :bug: :snail:

This is Tobey. Tobey is the youngest but slightly larger and bluer brother in a family of merchants. Yes, he is adopted, but please don’t tell him. It would break his heart.
He really is a good boy and always do what his father tells him to do. He carries his family’s house on their travels and he does it very carefully, so that grandma won’t spill her tea.
The family is quite successful and has gathered some wealth the last few years. They always manage to make good deals, because people tend to sell their goods cheap and never attempt to haggle, even though they have rather high prices. It must be because they are so polite.

(The renderer messed up some colors on the turntable, but nothing major)

Aaaand we’re closed!

Some great final submissions here … voting is still open for another 24 hours so please vote!

Final call for votes!

There are approximately 10 hours before voting is closed and our winner’s announced. There is barely anything between the top 3 so make sure you vote for who you think should win!

And we’re closed!

Congratulations to @Agon our competition winner this month, and congratulations to @voxel_pirate for second place!

Commiserations to our other finalists, there were some great entries there!

The next cycle will begin shortly!
