[Res] [180] Invulnerable sheep - citizen deaths!

The sheep are demons in disguise.

On an absolutely unrelated note, I think it’s kind of hilarious how people in the stream demanded to “burn sheep”… only to get ravaging sheep in the next alpha. I guess somewhere someone said “It’s time to take revenge. Wake up sheeple!”

I have the same issue, sheep killed one of my footman and now my other footman keeps trying to kill the violent sheep.

Quite funny but seems to be a logic bug I guess…

Thanks for the replies everyone, this was a pretty funny bug, aside from losing 2 citizens to it.

I believe from watching the stream on Thursday, that they believe this bug is related to how sheep were implemented as a hidden Player 2. I forget the exact wording of the speculation, but they are looking into fixing it.

Can confirm as well, I read the message of my footmen who asked for help, so the horn was used… all my citizens started attacking the naked creatures that were feasting upon the flesh of my brave footmen.

I too can confirm this happens. However, I have additional data.

When my second footman, one who joined as an event, died, I observed the following:

My footman was helping the farmers with deliveries. Meanwhile, Sheep A was being shorn by the shepherd.

Sheep B looked on in silent, woolen horror. It made a decision.

The Sheep of Infinite Despair was born.

His deliveries done, Alton Oppen, my only living footman at the time, sensed this imbalance and went to deal with the cashmere villain. The battle lasted from high noon until nearly the next day, when…

The sheep wandered away, and Alton began attacking products of his own imagination who were also doing damage to him.

R.I.P. Alton Oppen, citizen and footman for but two days. You will be missed.


This triggered a pile of errors, many of them the exact same error just repeated.

Fourth Error

Due to New User Image and Link Posting Restrictions, I’ll have to show you the other errors later on. I picked the ones that appeared to be most important, the one that happened first and the one that repeats every half second.

I am on version 0.1.0 (Release 180), Alpha 7 off the Latest channel.

I also do not know if these errors pop up every time for me, as the first time I was more worried about a suddenly dying footman than errors.

As of the newest unstable update (which I don’t know the number of right off hand, but as of December 25th, 2014) this bug appears to be fixed. I had a Shepard with 2 sheep, he sheared them, and no one died this time!

I can confirm that it doesn’t seem to happen any more in R183. I loaded up a save from the older version where the glitch still happened, shortly before the death of the footman should happen, and there were no issues.
