Do you have a save you can share with this issue? (Link to the file in Google Drive, Dropbox etc is fine.)

I got a save that has that issue.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Sa8ogmH3qhMEo2ZTBqbGprd0k

its an template issue tho im almost 100% sure it happened for me 2 or 3 times right after having used undo to remove some walls

i reported here since i figured it was a template issue.
Few other bug reports in latest build that looks related if you ask me.

http://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/placing-building-template-will-do-nothing-just-placeholders-for-doors-and-windows/25448

Yeah it only was fixed when upgrading to v18 unstable. That helped remove the placeholders and build again!

mine is a v18 (release 663) i still managed to reproduce both issues :frowning:

only way i can fix it is: make a save and reload, then use console/destroy to remove the building and i can build again then.

If i attempt to add any slabs to the building it will lock up the build system and i have to reload.

@bladeshaterer - first, welcome to the Discourse!

Here are the instructions for providing a save game, in case you need them:

  1. Find the save folder for the saves you wish to upload. By default, they are located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games (assuming a default Steam install).
  2. Zip the folder.
  3. Right click the folder (should be a long set of numbers).
  4. Left click on Send to in the menu that appears.
  5. Left click on `Compressed (Zipped) folder).
  6. (Optional) Rename the folder to something different than the default set of numbers.
  7. Upload the save.
  8. If the zip is less than 10 MB, you can upload it directly. Either use the upload button or drag and drop it into the compose window,
  9. If larger than 10 MB, upload it to a cloud storage site like Dropbox, Google Drive, File Dropper, etc. and post the sharing link here.

@Psyduck We are all gazing admiringly (well, more than admiringly, but anyway) at your amazing town. Chris is taking a look at the building errors to see what’s going on.

If you don’t mind my asking – how much of your township was done with instabuild?
Also, what are your design inspirations?

Thanks!

Heh Thanks! its basically all done with instant build. i’m not a very patient person :stuck_out_tongue:

Some point down the line i will try and make a “survival run”

As for inspiration i would say eastern europe in general. like crane building is inspired by a real crane building in Gdansk.
large bridge inspired by tower bridge in london.
Castle is pretty a true copy of a place called corvin castle. can just google that.
In general gothic architecture…so…eastern europe just comes as part of that
but can be anywhere with stuff like that.
