# Unable to complete a building

so basically I am able to build every other house on the map but this one

I have all of the materials, tried rebooting the game, and pausing and unpausing the build. Help?

@thelemonhead720, if the only issue you are having is that the specific building shown in the image won’t build, please check out the following thread where the devs are looking examples of buildings that will not complete.

Thank you, but that didn’t help. I mean a small cabin won’t finish construction. I tried removing the building but my Hearthlings stop destroying half way.

If the building won’t finish construction, it would be very helpful if you could post the template in the above thread for the devs to look at.

As to being unable to destroy it, you _should_ be able to remove it via the console. Type `Ctrl` + `c` on your keyboard, click on the house, type `destroy` in the console, and they click `Enter`.

**Summary:** My workers have stopped construction on a building halfway through, this has happened on at least 3 different games.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new building
2. Not sure if related but it must be larger than 20 x 20

Expected Results: My workers complete the building. I had more than enough wood and all the doors and windows were in my single stockpile.

Actual Results: The construction ends halfway through, not sure if related but in my last game one of my three works was stuck on the top of an unfinished wall. The remaining could be given new tasks but they will not finish the building

Version Number and Mods in use: Lasted build from Steam: Building is called Large Dining Hall. It wouldn’t let me upload the .json file.

Hey there @Aquagremlin, welcome to the Discourse! If you follow the steps posted over in the linked thread, post 45 (the yellow one) should explain how to upload your template. In short, you will need to zip the json file before uploading
