Suggestion: Separate Buildings Function

One of the greatest peeves I have with building in Stonehearth is that I’m a forgetful, impulsive person and I oftentimes forget to hit the “start new project” button when I’m designing multiple buildings back-to-back while another one is being built. This often causes me to have building projects that are multiple buildings that I don’t particularly want to have built all at once, or I find a mistake in and have to delete and rebuild because I already told my hearthlings to start the project.

Sometimes replacing these projects to fix a problem cannot be done (too big or weird to be put back where I want to, for example) and I have to start all of the projects from scratch instead of just the one building I made a mistake on.

One tool that would help me a lot is the ability to separate buildings that are in the same project that aren’t connected by anything with a click of a button, even if the project is already started.

A great idea would just be to have it automatically building a new building unless one is selected. I forget too. Otherwise would love a split building feature! Or maybe a duplicate template feature so I can delete the stuff I don’t want from both without losing stuff.

There’s already a function in game for this, whenever making a building and you decide you’re done with it just click the new building button and it’ll unfocus the last building and let you work on a new one.

i think that’s what the op forgets:

so the issue here is between the chair and the keyboard/mouse :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: (no offense xD)
the problem will be trying to figure out when a building ends and a new one begins…
as an example, i tend to build columns outside of the main building and then join them at the roof.
another common case will be when you drag a new room from outside the main building. it will be part of the same building or should be a new one?

the suggestion might work but don’t know what will take for the engine to track all boxes/pieces(including the one to start from) that are appart from the first building and then assign it to a new building proyect

It’s about being user friendly and intuitive.
