How do you tell if other people are online? Or is it just that no-one has ever been online at the same time as me so I can’t tell. I’ve also decided that this is the weirdest biomes I know of, somehow the giant snow planet in the system I started in here has volcanic sub-biomes.
It’s a pity it’s lagging too much to be playable really, having a 3s delay before attacking/placing kicks in is unusable for combat/freezing.

And those Avians were really bad, assuming that I only went to half health the entire fight, and all I had was a pistol whereas they had snipers and assault rifles. I didn’t use any bandages, and I hardly took cover. So I think that Avians aren’t good at combat.

Steel should come up as a new recipe in smelting, once you defeat the Alpha boss. Not sure if it showed up immediately or if there was another prerequisite besides the new forging station made from the loot.
Do you get firearms in the Alpha/Beta sectors? I pretty much just need to start assembling the boss for Beta, and I’m still using my incendiary spear and hunting bow.
In order to get steel you have to get a metalworks station and craft and use the Starmap Mk. 2. It should show up in your metalworks station along with all the other new recipes.
