- allow to store the food of the animals apart, instead of putting it with the ingredients cooked
- ensure that the barriers touch the adjacent walls, instead of leaving a gap between the two
- to be able to move the elements themselves, which would allow us, for example, to quickly move the boxes, which must sometimes be moved again at the option of the constructions
- ensure that trees can grow on their own rather than replant them
- putting priority on what we want our small villagers to do
- to set aside the elements required for a trader to avoid using them by mistake and to find themselves without anything when the trader comes back, or even to be able to craft an object (in the kitchen for example, to make a dish, Ingredients, but they sometimes disappear, stolen by the other inhabitants!)

I’m in favor of #1, 5 and 6, and think 1 & 6 could go hand in hand. An addition would be to allow a lock feature put on chests so that you can force villagers to use from a certain chest first. (Could be nice if you have a couple chests of raw materials near your mine, but your blacksmith/mason are in a separate location. Sometimes they get closer to those chests near the mine and take from there instead, which is time-consuming)

I don’t like #4, and don’t really know how that could be implemented in the current setup. Your farmers are cultivating saplings so you can regrow the wooded areas you’ve already cut down. If trees could regrow on their own, it would make the farmer’s job useless, right? It also doesn’t sound as realistic.

I don’t understand either points 2 or 3, though. Could you reword these?

I suggested to make “protected” containers somewhere but I can’t find my post now :glum:
Edit: found it

> Right now it’s quite hard to save a certain amount of certain food for a scheduled trade. Say, a trader asks you for 10 carrots. Right now your best bet is to create tons of fields seeded with carrots and hope for the best. You can’t guarantee your cook won’t use them. You can’t guarantee your hearthlings won’t eat them. So your only option is to raise its production and fit the time. While it’s certainly challenging, it’s not exactly what I would call “clever” or “controlled”. It’s not the cas…

I think in #2 he’s talking about how if you place a fence piece perpendicular to a built wall, the edge of the fence piece does not touch the wall, leaving a gap. This drives me crazy as well XD

@daisyj201 I’m definitely in favor of that, then. I’ve made those cobblestone fences and have never really liked how they don’t attach to each other at corners, unless you’re very precise in the way you build it.

Yes, it’s what I was trying to say. Thanks !
I don’t speak very well english.

For the point 3, I wanted to say “crates” and not “boxes”. So, I think it’ll easier to move ourselves crates because we sometimes have to re-move it to place somewhere else.

For #1, there’s always Better Stockpiles you can use for right now.

“to set aside the elements required for a trader to avoid using them by mistake and to find themselves without anything when the trader comes back, or even to be able to craft an object (in the kitchen for example, to make a dish, Ingredients, but they sometimes disappear, stolen by the other inhabitants!)”

Also if we accept the trade offer if those items the trader wants will automatically be queued by the crafters, just like building is.
