I have a question obviously, I built a workshop building without looking at the tables/beds/chairs they are all in need of gold flakes and since I just started I don’t have that. Each time I try to remove them it either declines or just does nothing. any suggestions without taking down the whole building?

You can’t edit a build after they started it. You can only pause or destroy. You can also simple leave it incomplete until you get those items, but i don’t think you want to wait, so you could manually place some items in it. Place temporary beds and chairs on it, and when ready to craft the correct ones, just remove them to clear the space again.
Bruno is right. My personal view is that avoiding furniture placement during construction and only adding it after completion can resolve this issue.
