As mentioned in it, the feature is dangerous for performance. I wonder if that got polished and could be used for many entities.

The feature exists, but the performance issues haven’t been fixed. If you randomize a large number of objects (e.g. all trees), it is a significant hit, but if you’re randomizing a few dozen objects, it should be fine. Your best bet is just apply it and see how much performance impact there is (if you set enable_debug_keys
in user_settings.json
, the key bindings menu will have keys for showing performance stats).
