# Black Screen on Start

I’m getting same “black screen with music” problem other ppl posted

I tried everything I read here, but no succes

No mods installed

Stonehearth (steam version) is in my whitelist, everything is up to date

My system specs:

Windows 10 Pro  
AMD FX 8320 3,50 GHz  
16 gb Ram  
NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Cerberys 4gb

Not sure if it helps or not but try hit **F5** on your keyboard when it’s black it might reload the user interface and magicly starts working hopefully :jubilant:

Then why are there so many messages in your log from mods trying to mixinto things? If this is a fresh install that you didn’t manually add mods to, try unsubscribing from all mods in Steam, or identify all the mods that you do have installed and disable them in your `user_settings.json` file by changing the `true` next to their name to `false`.

I’ve found that if I switch to desktop, click on Stonehearth in my task bar then, as Banto says, press F5 until it loads.

I already unsubscribbed all mods, uninstalled and reinstalled it.  
Tried the F5 trick, switching, etc  
None worked =(

stupid suggestion but worth a try: try disconnecting all things connected to your pc via USB that you dont need. (so just keep mouse and keyboard) then try running the game again… sometimes the game doesnt like some periferals like webcams
