AI Coordination


So I was wondering about the AI teamwork and such. It was mentioned int he Countdown that certain Enemies would be assigned to go after the valuable while others will fight the defenders and so one.

I was curious about those responsibilities being re-allocated mid fight, say, for example all of the looters are slain, would other foes try to then loot before cutting their losses?

Would they even cut their losses?



given my limited experience with tackling AI programming, you do often see a unit (an object) constantly re-evaluating its options (with each computing cycle)… it seems entirely possible that yes, a mob that had a current task of “retrieve valuables” could reconsider, based on new information, to instead attack defenders, etc.
