The Stonehearth Graphics Test Thread

The program crashes for me even when I run it as an admin. No errors displayed, just black screen at launch and then it crashes itself.
My specs:

  • Intel Core i5 430M 2.26GHz
  • Nvidia Geforce 310M (Open GL 2.1)
  • 8 GB DDR3
  • Windows 7 64 bit

I noticed that the bunny animations often stop mid jump so they look like they jump in the air and appear on the ground without finishing the jump animation. they also jump backwards sometimes and lag to another space. It could just be lag.

I have the same thing happening with my mouse. The custom Stonehearth cursor only appears over the link. Also in my subsequent attempts I’ve gotten a !readpending_ warning then a crash.

do you know if the “results” are still being sent perhaps?

I am not sure, but here is how the program crashes:

  1. The window turns white when it launches and it is align on the centre.
  2. The window then turns black and then it aligns itself to the right top corner.
  3. After a few seconds, the program closes itself.

Also, I can see the stonehearth mouse cursor whenever I move my cursor into the window.

hmm… thanks… are you familiar with your system logs? the ones that your OS generates? here’s a quick guide to finding them, in the event you can match one up to the time when SH crashed…

Sadly, does not work for me. I do not get any error prompts as others are reporting. In my case: I launch the Test, a window briefly appears (more like a flicker), and it is gone. I try launching it with my Task Manager open, and I see the Stonehearth.exe process appear, but it disappears almost instantly (sometimes the crash_reporter.exe will appear in its place, but disappears just as fast).
(Was not able to locate anything in the Event Viewer.)

Specs:

  • OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 750@2.67Ghz
  • RAM: 6.00 GB
  • Graphics: ATI Radeon HD4850

Well now i am getting an error worked great until some how i was monkeying with the zoom and i got the little island to disappear. and i am getting. !error when i try and load the game. now if i wait abit before i try and relaunch the game it works normally again i think it was holding the proccess open and causing the error.

I have noticed abit of lightning effect on the bunnies cheek area mainly during there breathing animation. not sure what would be causing it

Ran it the first time with no issues. No visual glitches that I personally saw, everything ran very smoothly.

Edit: Actually the textures under the rabbits ears and the workers finger digits were kinda wonky. Overlapping issues?

Tried to run it a second time and got the already mentioned !readpending_ warning followed by a crash.

AMD Phenom II X4 3.5GHZ Black Edition (No OC)
4GB DDR3 1600? (I want to say 1600, built the computer 2 years ago and that was the first computer I had built in 3-4 years. Outdated on the current popular numbers)
Radeon HD6870
Running Windows 7

P.S. Graphics test looks awesome. Thanks

As a general suggestion to people having trouble: please make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. I’ve been involved with multimedia/gaming library development in the past and the number one resolution to problems was having people update their graphics drivers!

Works great! can’t wait for the game now
I don’t see the yellow induction when i move my mouse over or click on things, but beside that it runs perfectly.

Mine worked just fine, I didn’t see anything wrong…This did get me really happy for this game though! This game is going to be Awesome!

Thanks for helping. So, it gave me 2 logs, Information and Error. Here is the pastebin:

Moreover, I restarted my computer and it seems when I launch the preview, it gave me an error box saying “!readPending_” and then another message “obj”. Both of the message window title is “Stonehearth Assertion Failed”.
Then it pops a message saying Stonehearth has stopped working.

absolutely! and your test results, while disappointing im sure, are at least providing more data points for radiant… :+1:

im sure they will work as diligently as they can to resolve as many of these issues as possible before the preview drops…

edit: finally had a chance to run the test… surprised to report, it ran flawlessly on my aging PC:

Windows 7 Ultimate N SP1 (64 bit)
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core
2GB system memory
GeForce 9500 GT

Im having the mouse issue too. When it is the stone hearth mouse icon it does not show except over text. When it is the system mouse icon it shows until I go over stonehearth text and then it goes poof again. Also zooming in and out are laggy.

likewise… first attempt went fine, but each additional attempt has given me this error prompt…

application logs produced the following:

Application-Error-Log.txt (1.7 KB)

Same exact problem. Opens then instantly closes only a blank screen. We also have similar stats.

You are welcome! After a few moments of thinking, I decided to update my graphics drivers which was 331.40 to 331.65. I didn’t update it because I thought it was just a small update since I am using a 331 update series already. Do note that I use nvidia.
I have good news and bad news.

The good news is* * drumroll **, it works, I finally able to get it run!!! It was a bit laggy but it was the 4x MSAA that was causing so I edit it to 1x in the Stonehearth.ini file and it was 3x smoother. The bunnies are cute.

The bad news is sometimes I get the !readPending_ error in a fraction of my attempts on launching the preview.

P.S. Keep up the fantastic work guys!

I get !readPending… followed by a crash

I am running
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Processor AMD A6-3650 APU
Video Card NVidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Ram 8 gb

Essentially just a HP model p7-1234 with the geforce video card added

all good except for the inability to highlight things
EDIT: opened Google and about 25 tabs and the game still ran smooth (had videos run in background too)
