[Res] Stonehearth won't start. Stonehearth has stopped working (fix: install SP1)

I already tried downloading the one from Humble Bundle. Same problem.

Which version of Windows are you running on?

I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate

I have the same problem, but never played before…
ASUS Motherboard
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GForce 760

Game doesnt even start.
User_settings.json contains personal id only

Hmm. It might be worthwhile for you guys to post the contents of your stonehearth.log file from the same folder your user_settings.json file is in. Since you are crashing out before you reach the first screen, it should be pretty short (resets every time you start the game).

I probably won’t be able to figure anything out from it, but it may help the devs sort things out when they get a chance to check this thread

As I said - the game doenst even start - I see it in my taskmanagaer for about 2 - 3 sec, then its gone.

It is a bit suspicious that the log ends the moment the server component starts. Everything else until that point looks very similar to what my log file looks like. Is it possible you have a firewall or antivirus that is blocking you somehow?

I tried to reinstall and play without my Antivirus.
Normally I get a message to allow access.

Do I need any special firewall settings for windows?

I tried to disable firewall and antivirus. It show no change or improvement. Log file ends at the same point.

It is weird, that I always get the log file for the 64bit version? no matter what Stoneheart version (32bit, 64 bit) i start?

Been surfing through the forums too see if anyone else has had this exact problem yet and I found a topic just like it. You’ll note that the Crash Information is exactly the same as your report @Kizoku. His Stonehearth.log also breaks off at exactly the same point. He also was running Windows 7 Ultimate.

In his case, the problem seemed to be that he wasn’t updated to Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Could that be the case for either of you?

Thank you very much, @Tuhalu!!

Adding this to the workaround thread right now.

Welcome to the forum, @Verymasterfuji, and sorry for the delay

You’re saying that the game doesn’t start, and you have Windows 7 with Service Pack 1?
You might be experiencing other problems, like crashes on the 64bit version of the game, that are related to 3rd party software or libraries interferring with the game. Like this one:

Could you upload (or paste the content) of your stonehearth.log file here? It’s located inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\
(if you’re playing via Steam)

hello devs i need your help is there anything your game needs that does not say in steam
